Prithvi Fine Art and Cultural Centre is a non – profit organization constituted to keep the cultural and social heritage of our country alive. It is a charitable society, registered under Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 No. S/74/2011) with its head office at 124, Hans Bhawan 1, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi-110002. Exemption was formerly granted to the Centre u/s 80 G of Income Tax Act, 1961 by the Director of Income Tax, (Exemptions) Delhi vide letter no. DIT(E)/80G/2011-2012/P-1502/344 dated 02.06.2011. Presently, registration is granted to Prithvi fine art and Cultural Centre under Section 12A Income Tax Act, 1961, Unique Registration Number: AABAP4839QE20100, dated 16/02/2022, for A/Y 2022-23 to A/Y 2026-27. Exemption is granted under section 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961, Unique Registration Number: AABAP4839QF20108, dated 23/02/2022, for A/Y 2022-23 to A/Y 2026-27.

Society is also registered on Darpan Portal of Niti Aayog, Government of India.

The society is also approved for CSR grants by the Ministry Of Corporate Affairs.

The Society was envisioned and founded by a team whose experiences of traditional knowledge, education, and artistic sciences deeply influenced Prithvi’s vision. The Society’s vision and efforts are in response to the degrading cultural and social heritage of the country. This Society aims at providing education in fine arts, studio arts as well as education in visual arts and design. It also works for the promotion of fine arts and music. The Society targets at creating awareness and enhancement of cultural traditions of India in public through various art exhibitions, seminars and workshops. Along with this, the Society shall make films on fine arts and music. The prime concern of the Society is to work towards the betterment and restoration of cultural and social heritage of the country by way of protecting and promoting various dying arts and lesser known cults and practices.

Prithvi Fine Art and Cultural Centre in conjunction with the Claridges, Suraj Kund organized its first art exhibition “My Life, My Way!” which was held in April 2011. This show culminated from an art camp held amidst the sylvan surroundings of the historical Suraj Kund in the ultra contemporary hotel The Claridges. The camp included 14 of India’s most well known and creative artists. They worked in tandem from March 26 to 27, 2011, to create works that amply reflect the wonderful energy of the camp. The art camp & the exhibition were sponsored by Power Grid Corporation of India.

Prithvi Fine Art and Cultural Centre organized its second art camp (June, 2012) in Leh-Ladakh in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Lalit Kala Academy. The camp included 17 of India’s most well known artists.

The society organised a solo exhibition of paintings of Sangeeta Gupta at ICCR, New Delhi. The show was inaugurated by the former President of India; Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in August, 2013 and was dedicated to Uttarakhand. The fund (Rs. 20 Lakhs) raised through sale proceeds of the paintings has been used for creating a Fine Art Education grant for the students of Uttarakhand in collaboration with Department of Culture, Government of Uttarakhand.

The society has produced five documentary films (1) Keshav Malik: A Look Back (2) Keshav Malik: Root, Branch, Bloom (3) Keshav Malik: The Truth of Art on the legend poet and art critic Keshav Malik (2012-13) (4) Mahakumbh : Aastha ka Mahaparv (2013) and (5) Weaves of Time (2013).

“Keshav Malik: A Look Back” was screened in 2012, by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Sanskriti Kendra, Anandgram, New Delhi and at Kala Ghora Art Festival, Mumbai 2013. The other two documentaries “Keshav Malik – Root, Branch, Bloom” and “Keshav Malik- The Truth of Art” were screened by India International Centre and by Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Delhi in 2013. This film was telecasted by the TV channel DD Bharati three times in January 2014. The documentary “Maha Kumbh- Aastha ka Mahaparv”, was screened at Sanskriti Kendra, Anandgram, New Delhi. “Weaves of Time” the latest documentary was screened at India Habitat Centre, Delhi in December, 2013.

The society in collaboration with Alliance Francaise de Delhi (French Institute of French Embassy in India) organized a Spring Festival from 28th March to 31st March, 2014 which included an Art Exhibitionwith Music Show, a Poets Meet, Painting Workshop and a film festival.

The Vice-President of the society Padamshree Keshav Malik passed away on 11.06.2014 and as a homage to the legend, the documentary film “Keshav Malik – The Truth of Art” was screened at Lalit Kala Akademi and India International Centre and was telecasted by Loksabha Television in June-July, 2014.

Recently, the society has organised an art exhibition of the Greek Artists from 26th July to 1st August, 2014 at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi as part of a cultural exchange programme.
